Wire EDM Operator
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a Wire EDM Operator to join their team. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, wire, and work pieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
- Load and edit CNC programs as required
- Utilize knowledge of linear axes and use G&M Codes
- Program, operate, and maintain Wire EDM utilizing knowledge of working properties and processes for a variety of materials
- Develop and implement process recommendations for improved efficiency to optimize the programs and processes
- Verify conformance of finished work pieces to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment, as necessary
- Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reporting
- Clean the work tank, table, and wire path pulleys on a daily basis
- Analyze and interpret operation sheets, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
- Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including proper PPE
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is required
- Must have at least 2 years Wire EDM, BOBCAD, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks software experience and Mitsubishi controls experience is preferred
- Tool and Die blueprint reading experience is preferred
- Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary
- Musts be able to frequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and tooling
- Must have an understanding of the different wire types, sizes, and operating parameters for best machine optimization
- A solid grasp of high school level mathematics is necessary
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate in English and have the ability to work efficiently with others or independently
- Must have the ability to pay a high attention of detail
- Must be able to solve complex problems using math skills
- Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly and routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, grasping, and walking
- Integrity and conscientiousness in all work-related matters while always being safety conscious
- Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
