Shipping/Receiving Specialist
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking an individual who will manage daily shipping and receiving orders, pack them safely, check received goods for accuracy and ensure that the general incomings and outgoings within the company are handled efficiently. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all important documents; shipping notices, pick slips, bill of lading, etc.
- Use software to track, check, prioritize, and route shipments
- Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment
- Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other managers to optimize processes
- Resolve issues regarding shipped orders
- Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies
- Report to management on activities and issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have previous shipping and receiving experience
- Must have knowledge of International Standards and how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve them
- Supply Chain Logistics and quality assurance is needed
- Must have basic math and computer skills
- Must have leadership, strategic thinking, resource management, and judgement skills
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be customer focused with strong planning, organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Must have integrity, motivation, dependable, reliable, and a willingness to learn
- Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
