Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Work hours are first shift from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with other Shipping Clerks to coordinate and be aware of the movement of materials and workflow through departments and maintain an organized Inventory system
- Maintain knowledge of due dates, manufacturing schedules, manufacturing progress, and secondary requirements, including but not limited to anodizing and plating
- Communicate shipping and delivery needs with all affected departments, keep employees informed of any changes, provide enough time for changes to the schedule, and create easy to follow process for said communication
- Pack parts as needed either for final shipment or for shipment to sub-contractors, create and print product labels, and complete all necessary paperwork
- Communicate with office concerning shipping cards, packing slips, certifications, inventory counts, and customer returns
- Manage scrap pick up, oversee the parts washer and chip spinner employees, and ensure all safety procedures are followed concerning loading and unloading
- Solve problems, and answer customer questions and concerns regarding shipping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing shipping department
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and knowledge of shipping software is preferred
- Must be able to operate Lift Trucks and Material Handling equipment
- Must have the ability to drive for product pick-up and/or delivery as needed
- Must be comfortable frequently standing and walking on oily surfaces, lifting boxes up to 60 pounds on a regular basis, and frequently lifting boxes weighting up to 65 pounds
- Must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
