Senior Tax Accountant
Job Description
An accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant who will be responsible for working with clients, partners, and staff to provide comprehensive ta advisory and compliance services. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Perform review of individual tax returns prepared by tax staff or interns
- Serve as a technical resource for tax staff and interns
- Conduct basic to complex tax research
- Collaborate with colleagues to conduct tax planning for individual, corporate, partnership, estate, gift, trust, and international tax clients
- Review federal, state, and local tax notices and draft responses
- Delegate work and supervise tax staff ad interns
- Participate in firm wide and tax department administrative projects and assist with training of other personnel
- Develop a network of industry peers and business contacts, meet with prospective clients, and cultivate referral business
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation from an accredited college or university
- Must have 3 to 4 years experience in public accounting and demonstrate a progression in knowledge and depth of understanding in various area of taxation
- Must have a CPA License or be CPA eligible
- Must be able to demonstrate time management and organizational skills to meet tax deadlines
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated with a solid work history
- Must have the ability to pay a high attention to detail, demonstrate strong multi-tasking skills, take ownership of job duties, and work well as part of a team
