Sanitation Supervisor
Job Description
A large company is offering an immediate, full-time position for a Sanitation Supervisor to ensure company equipment and facilities are clean and conform with all regulatory and company guidelines in order to maintain the highest standards of company quality and safety. Work hours are from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
- Supervise and direct the activities of the Sanitation Worker functions and train and assign work to and schedules employees for cleaning duties and inspects work to ensure compliance with standards
- Maintain and update MSS, SSOP’s and all other sanitation records
- Ensure conformance with proper manufacturing practices, OSHA standards, health code regulations, and company safety policies
- Oversee the scheduling and cleaning of the flour silos
- Participates in all third party audits and coordinates corrective actions for all food safety audits in a timely manner
- Direct staff job results by hiring, coaching, training, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Maintain paperwork for employees, issue supplies and equipment to employees, make requisitions for cleaning supplies and equipment, and submit requests for repair of equipment
- Interact professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors, and the general public
- Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed
- May perform cleaning duties during staffing shortages
- Assist with development and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures, complete daily pre-operational inspections in coordination of QA approval
- Report food safety, quality, or food defense concerns to QA Manager
- Conform and ensure compliance with all Safety, GMP’s, and Food Safety Policies
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have 5 to 10 years food processing experience and a minimum 3 years Sanitation Supervisor experience and HACCP knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree is related field, knowledge of USDA requirements, pre-operation inspections, AIB (American Insatiate of Baking), and pesticide licensing is preferred
- Must have the ability to complete and pass Sanitation training courses
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Must have basic experience with Microsoft Office applications and uses of intranet and internet
- Developed problem solving, team building, staff development, good follow-up, and effective communication skills are needed
- Must have the ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines while paying a high attention to detail
- Must be able to read and interpret technical documents and have a high degree of initiative and independent judgment
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, solution focused, and maintain a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude
- Must have the ability to tactfully and effectively deal with the public and staff in a personable and professional manner
