Safety Director

We have an immediate opportunity for a Safety Director who will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations within the company.  This is an immediate first shift position.

Responsibilities:  

• Develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules, and complete required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
• Provide technical and administrative support and identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems
• Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards and conduct safety inspections and audits
• Review safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates
• Review accident and incident reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field is preferred
• Must have at least 3 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment
• Must have extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills with the ability to pay a high attention to detail, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Must have strong supervisory and leadership skills and the ability to conduct training
• Must be able to travel between company offices to perform required safety inspections
