Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Associate/Engineer who has a strong commitment to continuous improvement and an understanding of modern quality control and manufacturing theory and practice.  Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Job Duties:

  • Maintain and update the corporate quality system to ensure its compliance to Customer Specific Requirements, ISO/IATF Standards and efficient application within the business
  • Lead APQP and PPAP processes to ensure effective and efficient process and procedure development through use of PFMEA, Control Plans, error proofing and benchmarking
  • Leads Corrective/Preventive/Predictive Action process through application of appropriate problem-solving methodologies leading to proper root cause analysis.
  • Assist with the internal calibration program, facilitate and provide leadership on company initiatives, utilize Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and overall knowledge of the Quality functions, and implement and promote quality control culture/zero defect within the organization
  • Support purchasing in the development of vendor base, ensure that all specifications are met through vendor audits, and act as point person for relationship with both internal and external quality auditors
  • Develop and implement uniform quality control policies and procedures, work with production on process development of new parts, and perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical method, equipment and instruments
  • Perform experiments and special production processes in a lab setting, prepare and conduct experiments under defined conditions to validate/reject various hypotheses utilizing best practices, and analyze data, calculate test results, and prepare report for management review
  • Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred. Relevant experience may be a substitute for formal education
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years related experience in an ISO9001:2015 or ISO17025 environment with a preference for IATF16949:2016
  • Must have a working knowledge of Quality Core Tools and ISO9001:2015, IATF16949:2016, and lead auditor training preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, follow up, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills
  • Must have effective time management, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, be comfortable with extended periods of sitting or standing, and extensive work mixing chemicals, conducting experiments, and using laboratory equipment
