Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Manager to procure and coordinate parts and materials to satisfy manufacturing requirements while maintaining inventory levels and enhancing vendor relations. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Responsibilities:

  • Requisition material requirements through interaction with purchasing and inventory control in an ERP environment
  • Maintain inventory levels by expediting/de-expediting and cancelling open purchase orders
  • Place purchase orders with qualified vendors based on MRP generated Buy List
  • Verification of inventory levels by cycle count reconciliation
  • Conduct vendor negotiations and ensure quality of material, received on time, at a fair price
  • Update MRP Standard Costs when price increase or decreases occur 
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a four-year degree in Production, Operations Management, or equivalent
  • Must have previous Purchasing experience 
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office and Made2Manage ERP System 
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have the ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
