Purchasing Manager
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Manager to procure and coordinate parts and materials to satisfy manufacturing requirements while maintaining inventory levels and enhancing vendor relations. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Requisition material requirements through interaction with purchasing and inventory control in an ERP environment
- Maintain inventory levels by expediting/de-expediting and cancelling open purchase orders
- Place purchase orders with qualified vendors based on MRP generated Buy List
- Verification of inventory levels by cycle count reconciliation
- Conduct vendor negotiations and ensure quality of material, received on time, at a fair price
- Update MRP Standard Costs when price increase or decreases occur
- Complete all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a four-year degree in Production, Operations Management, or equivalent
- Must have previous Purchasing experience
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office and Made2Manage ERP System
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to work and make decisions independently
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
