Job Description

A local contractor is seeking a Master Carpenter who will be responsible for overseeing carpentry projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and managing teams of carpenters.  Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess blueprints and project specifications to determine the materials and tools needed for construction, then plan and execute carpentry tasks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Oversee journeymen carpenters and apprentices, provide guidance, and ensure that all work adheres to safety regulations and quality standards
  • Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including cutting, shaping, and installing building materials, while being proficient in using both hand and power tools
  • Inspect work for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet project specifications
  • Work closely with architects, designers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the final product meets the desired aesthetic and functional requirements 
 

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED, along with completing a carpentry apprenticeship program
  • Must have several years of experience in carpentry, often starting as an apprentice and progressing to a journeyman before achieving master status
  • Must have rough and finish carpentry experience with the ability to perform a wide range of carpentry tasks
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Must be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and be able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, stay with budget, and adhere to safety regulations and quality standards
  • Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
