A manufacturing company is seeking an individual to join our General Labor Team who will support daily manufacturing operations by performing a variety of hands-on tasks including basic assembly, grinding, deburring, slag removal, kitting, and material handling. In addition, you will prepare fabricated metal parts for welding, finishing, and final assembly.  Work hours are Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties:

• Grind, sand, and smooth metal surfaces to remove burrs, sharp edges, slag, weld spatter, and imperfections
• Use hand grinders, sanders, and pneumatic tools to finish parts and inspect parts to ensure they meet dimensional and finish standards
• Assist with simple mechanical assembly using hand and power tools
• Read and follow work instructions, tags, and basic drawings
• Pick and prepare kits for welding and assembly based on production orders
• Load and unload parts, assist with staging for fabrication or welding
• Maintain clean work area and follow all plant safety rules
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred
• Use of grinders, sanders, or metal finishing tool and exposure to welding environments or fabrication processes is preferred
• Must have the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
• The ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings as well as operating forklift and pallet jacks are preferred
• Must be proficient with hand tools and finishing equipment
• Must be able to pay strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and be extremely safety-conscious
• Must be comfortable working in a metal fabrication shop environment with noise, metal debris, and active machinery while wearing required PPE
• Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures
