Maintenance/Lead Carpenter
Job Description
An educational facility is seeking a Maintenance/Lead Carpenter Technician to perform carpentry work of both rough and finish carpentry work related to the construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of building components. This is a first shift position working 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime for events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled rough and finish carpentry work
- Generate accurate cost estimates of material and labor
- Prepare, read, interpret, and work from sketches, drawings, plans and blueprints
- Perform general maintenance duties of grounds; landscaping, mowing, bush, and tree removal
- Set-up and tear down of events including moving tables, chairs, benches, etc.
- Perform other duties as needed
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years experience performing skilled rough and finish carpentry work is preferred
- Must have the ability to effective use power and hand tools
- Must have the ability to efficiently operate electric drills, hammers, wrenches, pipe cutters, metal cutters, benders, pressure gauges, and volt meters
- Must be comfortable walking, standing, bending, stooping, or crouching for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in all temperatures and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to prepare, read, interpret, and work from sketches, drawings, plans and blueprints
- Must have the ability to work overtime as required for events
