Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Labeling Operator whose primary purpose is to perform duties required to fill, package, and label products accurately and timely.  Work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday as often as needed; plenty of overtime available.

Job Duties:

  • Review fill tickets for process instructions and prioritize daily job requirements with production supervisor
  • Print required labels using a computer-based program and maintain private party label inventory
  • Run and maintain the one-gallon labeling line and the five-gallon labeling machine.
  • Process retain labels for filling, duplicate fill tickets, and provide appropriate lot number labeling for the one-gallon labeling line
  • Gain a thorough understanding of how the labeling equipment is designed to function to ensure safe operation, as well as, assist in determining reasons for malfunction, manual labeling of containers when necessary
  • Report equipment maintenance and supplies and maintain the cardboard recycling in the labeling area
  • Properly use automated and semi-automated filling equipment and properly connect and disconnect appropriate pressurized equipment
  • Identify the type of container and fill quantity and reduce waste and spills in accordance with Company policies
  • Follow procedures for clean checks, retain samples, and equipment checks
  • Clean and maintain all tanks and pieces of equipment for the next batch
  • Record the following information on the batch ticket: Number of containers used, number of filter bags, amount of wash solvent used, times for starting and finishing a process, and reporting butt drums

 

 

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have factory experience; Packaging, and chemical mixing experience is preferred
  • Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable using both hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions, follow instructions, and perform basic math
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a Powered Industrial Truck
  • Must have a basic understanding of Windows operating system and Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be able to work with other, as well, as independently
  • Must maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with all safety and company policies and procedures, and environmental regulations
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally 90 pounds
  • Must have static resistant boots with SD emblems
