HSE Manager
Job Description
A local company is offering a HSE Manager to provide leadership on matters pertaining to safety, environmental issues, development, planning and administering of an effective HSE program, reporting on matters concerning accidents involving property damage, serious injuries, and the findings pertaining to equipment accidents, incidents and near misses. You will work first shift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain all required written safety plans in accordance with all regulatory requirements
- Ensure all required plant safety inspections are performed and documented
- Assist in the performance of accident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions
- Maintain a close working relationship with department managers and supervisors to assure proper support of the safety program at each location
- Ensure the MSDS database is current for all material, risk and hazard analysis are performed, and chair the plant safety committee
- Compile required safety performance metric data, log, and report to government agencies
- Prepare and submit all environmental permit applications and renewals, manage all plant waste disposal activity, and develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related field with a proven track record of successfully managing a strong and robust safety, health, and environmental program
- Must have at least 5 years demonstrated hands-on experience in a HSE Management role within a manufacturing environment
- Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and codes pertaining to workplace safety and experience working with a Safety Programs
- Must have a thorough knowledge of fundamentals of safety education, industrial hygiene, accident prevention, and safety psychology
- Professional certifications related to Safety, Health, and Environment field are required
- Must have ISO9001, OSHA, RCMS, HAZCOM, First Aid, CPR, RCRA Hazardous Waste Management professional certifications and trainings
- Must have a background in 5-Why, What-If Analysis, 6-Sigma, and other incident investigations
- Must have basic principles and practices of program development and administration
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have strong communication, organizational, demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, prioritize work, and operate with a sense of urgency
- Must be an analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
