Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Inspector who will be responsible for the inspection of CNC machined parts, sub-assemblies, and perform first article inspections for conformance to specifications working in an ISO 9001 quality system.  There is an opening on both second and third shifts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections of machined parts and sub-assemblies, mechanical inspection of machined parts, and ensure that they meet established specifications
  • Perform visual inspection of machined parts and sub-assemblies to ensure that all products meet the established specifications for reliability and workmanship
  • Utilize gages, comparators, CMM, and other instruments 
  • Ensure that all required process operations have been performed on the product that is being inspected
  • Enter all quality data into the appropriate electronic or manual systems
  • Notify the appropriate personnel if unusual product defects are identified or if process yields fall below acceptable levels
  • Provide timely feedback to manufacturing if non-conforming product is identified
  • Accurately complete all administrative activities associated with quality inspection
  • Assist with the interpretation of the quality and workmanship standards, raise questions when potential issues arise that could affect production efficiency or quality, and proposes alternatives for review
  • Build a positive work environment and run jobs as a machinist using Manual Machines
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Three to five years' experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of work experience and education
  • Must have the ability to correctly interpret blueprints and written specifications
  • A solid knowledge of GD&T principles and their relation to inspection is required
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude with the ability to work well under pressure in fast paced environment
  • Must have strong organization and planning skills with ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work efficiently and safely, work independently or with minimal direction, and pay a high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels is needed
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
