Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent
Job Description
A large and growing company is seeking a Data Analyst/Purchasing Agent who will be responsible for analyzing procurement data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize purchasing strategies. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret procurement data to uncover trends and insights
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators related to purchasing activities
- Use data analytics tools to forecast demand and assess supplier performance and provide actionable insights to inform procurement strategies and decision-making
- Maintain building and maintaining sheets that track metrics such as on time shipment, first pass rates, price lists for raw materials, packaging and finished goods, product margins and more
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and reliability and negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contract terms
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels
- Process purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation of transactions
- Assist in scheduling production with the long-term goal of taking over that role
- Work closely with other areas, including finance, operations, and logistics, to align purchasing strategies with overall business goals
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide timely solutions
- Will cross train to provide backup in areas such as Quality Control
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Must have Knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends
- Must be willing to identify and implement improvements to company strategies
- Must have proven experience in data analysis and purchasing, preferably in a similar role
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools is required
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Must have excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency, while possessing the determination and foresight to make quick and effective decisions
- Must have the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively, while maintaining close contact with the company management team
- Must be computer literate and a team player who works well with others to achieve a common goal
- Must be able to pay a high attention to detail while being comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Must have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
