Customer Service Representative
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a Customer Service Representative who will process orders for materials or merchandise received by mail, telephone, or personally from the customer. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Duties:
- Document and scan order information to sales order
- Update customer spreadsheets for changes and scan and attach accepted amendments to the sales orders
- Enter production orders and accepted amendments into the computer system for scheduling
- Advise customer of any damage, deterioration, loss of material, or any other concerns
- Maintain up-to-date standards and specifications for customer shipping schedules, routing, and electronic data interchange methods
- Reconcile daily customer shipments and weekly consignment inventory
- Maintain document files and shipping records, bill of lading, packing lists, and shipping notices
- Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of both
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions is required
- Must be able to calculate discounts, interest, commission, proportions, and percentages
- Must be computer literate and able to maneuver in custom programs
- Must have strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills with an articulate phone presence
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed uninvolved written or oral instructions
