CNC Lathe Machinist - Second Shift
Job Description
A manufacturing company is offering an immediate position for a CNC Lathe Machinist to work a second shift position from 4:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Job Duties:
- Perform turning, boring, drilling, tapping and threading
- Set-up CNC machines by performing simple edits, installing, and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and indicate parts with minimal to no assistance
- Load raw material by lifting stock into position and verify setting by measuring positions
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting issues for repairs
- Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance, as required to achieve customer satisfaction
- Actively and positively participate in problem resolution, demonstrate constructive communication, timely response, and effective resolution skills
- Identify and use proper tools and gauging and apply knowledge of geometry and trigonometry as applicable to machining
- Demonstrate understanding of machining applications as they pertain to different materials
- Complete machining work as needed to meet business requirements, plan proper sequence of operations, and work safety at all times
- Maintain company and customer quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have 5 years CNC Lathe experience
- Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
- Must be able to follow basic verbal and/or written instructions
- Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively, be self-motivated, accept responsibility for one's own work, and be a team member
- Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver 50 pounds
- Must have the ability to apply knowledge of geometry and trigonometry as applicable to machining
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision, keep work area clean, and follow all safety procedures
