Building Maintenance Assistant
Job Description
A non-profit organization is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant to ensure efficient daily operations at various properties, keep them clean, landscaped, and well-maintained. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete items on cleaning checklist and clear garbage and recycling from trash rooms and other areas
- Maintain common areas floors by mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing and clean all common areas of the properties including public restrooms
- Use supplies appropriately and monitor quantities
- Clean outside areas seasonally, snow removal per snow removal policy, cut grass on a regular basis, remove leaves and other debris, and maintain planting areas including planting, fertilizing, and weeding maintenance
- Complete work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and service requests
- Assist with unit turnovers including cleaning, repairs, and painting
- Maintain equipment including appliances and HVAC units
- Inventory and/or purchase needed materials per procedures
- Provide regular reporting on activities and property issues
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance experience is preferred
- Must be able to go up and down stairs, reach, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be computer literate with email experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
Only candidates that can pass a background, BMV check, and drug screen will be considered. Upon permanent hire, you will be living on site.
