Job Description

Job Qualifications - Must Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in HR, business administration, or related field is needed
  • Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in benefit administration and absence management
  • Must have skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion  
  • Must have knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, and other laws affecting benefit and absence programs, including ACA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, and Section 125
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability develop and deliver effective presentations, along with strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer Focus" attitude 
  • Must be able to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective collaborator, in addition to being self-directed and forward thinking
  • Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Must have the ability to set priorities and organize work to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Must have the ability to manage confidential employee information with discretion and good judgement.

Job Requirements

Here’s an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Administrator who will work 30 to 40 hours each week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the manager to administer retirement and absence management programs for full and part-time employees
  • Draft, edit, and distribute benefits education and communication materials, and documents administrative procedures and processes
  • Addresses enrollment questions, educating participants about plan details and provisions, and handling case inquiries
  • Serve as a key contact with carriers and third-party administrators, responding to benefits inquiries from participants relating to status changes, plan provisions, and other general inquiries
  • Support eligibility and enrollment processes through data entry, reporting, and periodic audits to maintain data integrity
  • Serve as back-up support for carrier file transmissions, vendor billing, and post-payroll funding processes
  • Analyze and reconcile Human Resources and benefit data to ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature as may be required
