Behavioral Health Department Assistant
Job Description
A local medical facility is seeking an Assistant to organize and manage the needs of patients and their families. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with one evening per week.
Responsibilities:
- Screen and process mental health referrals in EPIC, make phone calls, send letters, manage referrals, and link patients to providers or other services
- Manage and prioritize requests and calls to BH Department
- Maintain current list of community resource and updated periodicals
- Make reminder phone calls to patients and order transportation as needed
- Provide Spanish speaking services as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- LSW or comparable degree preferred
- Experience working in a behavioral health setting is preferred
- Must be familiar with community resources
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Web maintenance, and database management
- Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working in an environment that is stressful at times
- Must have good organizational skills and be detail-oriented
- Must be mentally alert, patient, and tactful with patients
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
