Accounting Clerk
Job Description
A large and local company is seeking an Accounting Clerk to assist and maintain financial records. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Duties:
- Ensure the accuracy of financial data for organization and perform Accounts Payable, vendor management, general ledger, and financial analysis
- Maintain and update vendor files including contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check run along with wire and ACH payments
- Assist in month and year end closing process for preparing of financial statements
- Update and maintain fixed assets schedule and depreciation, prepare monthly sales, and tax filings
- Prepare and process journal entries, payroll, depreciation, lease, prepaid expense, accrued expense, etc.
- Lead weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts throughout plant
- Review and analyze purchase orders, accounts payable, and inventory costs by project
- Assist Controller with production cost accounting and support continuous process improvements with Accounting Department
- travel locally between manufacturing sites as needed to support the full accounting department
- Cross training as backup in other areas and perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Accounting
- Must have 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must have a willingness to engage with operations on the shop floor to completely understand all facets of the business
- Analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are needed
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, with ERP experience and accurate data entry skills
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently, and also in a team setting
