Basic Machinist/Value Add On - Second Shift
Job Description
A manufacturing company is seeking an individual to perform assigned labor-intensive tasks and run a metal stamping punch press to produce metal stampings within established run rate. This is a second shift position working 4 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Responsibilities:
- Safely produce stampings within the priority determined on the Dispatch List and within specified run-time as shown on Work Order Router
- Attend to the press at all times of operation
- Communicate with Production Manager and coordinate needs with Material Handler
- May require Statistical Process Control Data collection
- Remove scrap material and report product tools or problems
- Report labor time and part count on computer
- Perform in-process inspections
- Perform other duties as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have previous experience operating basic machines
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
- Must have the ability to identify and relate the process to material storage and handling needs and develop a system that facilitates flow
- Must be able to identify with the objective and components of the process and understand what you are doing before attempting to execute a task
- Must have the ability to improve own learning and performance, focused effort on goals, and work towards improvement
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Must be comfortable wearing personal protection equipment while on the shop floor
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, reach, bend, push, or pull material in production environment
- Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
